Bible Text

Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Message

The first two chapters of Colossians reveal the glory of the Son of God and the believer's present position as identified with Him in resurrection life. This is followed by the two closing chapters, which are an appeal that may again be briefly condensed into the first two verses of the section: "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth" (Col. 3:1-2). It is important to note the divine order in presenting these most vital issues. The positions to which the believer is instantly lifted by the power and grace of God are always mentioned first and without reference to any human merit or promises. Following this is the injunction for a consistent life in view of the divine blessing. It is the divine purpose that a Christian's conduct should be inspired by the fact that he is already saved and blessed with all the riches of grace in Christ Jesus, rather than by the hope that an attempted imitation of the Christian standard of conduct will result in salvation.

1.We were Foreknown

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Rom. 8:29.

Jerimiah 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

2.We are Elect of God

Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. 1 Thess. 1:4.

Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. 1 Pet. 1:2.

Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Rom. 8:33.

Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering. Col. 3:12.

Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness. Titus 1:1.

3. We were Predestined

In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: Eph. 1:11.

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. Rom. 8:29-30.

Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will. Eph. 1:5.

4. We were Chosen

For many are called, but few are chosen. Matt. 22:14.

To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious. 1 Pet. 2:4.

5. We are Called

Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. 1 Thess. 5:24.

6 He is our Provider
God is our provider (Deut 28:1-14,Ps 68) which is a blessing and a calling.

Finally Folks To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you. Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. (1 Pet. 1:4. Eph. 1:14.)Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. Col. 3:24.

And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. Heb. 9:15.

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Eph. 2:6.

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Col. 3:4.

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 1 John 5:11-12.

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Eph. 2:6.

God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 Cor. 1:9.

For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. 1 Cor. 3:9.

We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. 2 Corinthians 6:1.

Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. 2 Cor. 5:20.

But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses. 2 Cor. 6:4.

Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 2 Corinthians 3:6.

Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. 2 Corinthians 3:3.

"For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen." Rom. 11:32-36.

If we faithfully give God Love and obey His commandment, God will faithfully meet our needs. He will, supply every need of ours. This happens through His riches. Our greatest need is Christ. God will meet that need according to His Word. We will reach completeness in Christ as we practice faithful giving. Stewardship is the mark of a true believer. By practicing consistent giving we are constantly putting off the thing that often tempts us the most. The idol that most ensnares our hearts is put away as we give in JESUS Name.
