Hopes of an early resolution of the crisis of confidence rocking Ogun State between the executive and legislative arms have been further dimmed.

This followed a petition by the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Tunji Egbetokun, and two others to President Goodluck Jonathan in which they alleged a breakdown of law and order in the state.

The lawmakers called on the President to urgently intervene in the crisis.

The Speaker, in a passionate letter addressed to Jonathan dated August 24, 2010, painted a grim picture of the absence of the rule of law, peace and tranquility in the state.

However, the governor has decided not to pre-empt the president but to wait for his response to the petition.
