Matt. 5:13 Ye Are The Salt Of The Earth

Message

When Jesus calls us "salt of the earth", He is reminding us that we have the opportunity and the responsibility to be an influence in the world. Our LORD Jesus gives some qualities that ought to be present in every citizen in the Kingdom. When we are possessed of these characteristics, we will be a positive influence and we will make a difference in the world around us. When we are living out the standards of the LORD Jesus in our lives, we will be like salt and like light. Now, light is an external quality that enables one to see. Just as a glistening, limestone city sitting high on a hillside cannot be hidden for the light coming from its walls, so the Christian who shines with the brilliance of the Lord Jesus cannot be hidden from the view of the world. In other words, your testimony will get out on you. Those around you will see it and be touched by it.

Salt is generally a stimulant of appetite according to Job 6:6 Can that which is unsavoury be eaten without salt? or is there any taste in the white of an egg? Also salt is also preventive of decay .Luke 14: 34 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?35 It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
According to the scripture, Peace is embodied in the government of our LORD also we the ‘salt of the earth’’ must extend this divine virtue Mark 9:50 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.
As ‘salt of the earth’ we are stimulant to testimonies of God and it has to be continuous so that the name of our LORD will be glorified Mt. 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Col. 4:6Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
The presence and the prayers of "salt of the earth" has done more to preserve nations than anything else we could name. It is the righteousness of God's children that builds a nation. Pro. 14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. Our Lord called us to be an active force in the world around us and we should be militant against the gates of Hell, Matt. 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Christians should always thank God that we are acting as a purifying force in the world around us Rom. 12:1-2. When we do, it proves that we are worth to be the purifying force of the earth and also we Christian should flavor the world around us As salt, we are to so live our lives that we bring out the best in those around us. That is what Jesus did time and again, and that what you and I are supposed to be doing for His glory! (Ill. Phil. 1:27)
Finally, Salvation is sowed into lives to put sin to death and start a new beginning. We can make an impact on our world by the very fact that we are pure poison to sin. When Jesus comes into a life wrath, strife, anger , fighting, hating, killing, drugging, loose living ,withcraftism , etcetera, are all put to death in the name of Jesus - 2 Cor. 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

God in His infinite mercies will continue to purify us, preserve us and magnify Himself in our lives in JESUS Name.
