I n my opinion they should work more on there midfield and should hire some good midfielders who can give them boost to there attacking power.

EVERTON are preparing for a summer of spending to keep Yakubu Aiyegbeni, Victor Anichebe and other top players.

The Goodison Park club will put together a series of new contract offers to current players to keep David Moyes' squad intact. And boss Moyes will have to shop in the bargain basement.

Everton's eye-catching form means increased interest in his stars. But he is determined to allow NO major departures.

And that is why any substantial financial outlay will be on improved deals for players already at Goodison Park.

These will include midfield ace Steven Pienaar, 27, who is said to be attracting interest from Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

Jack Rodwell, 18, and Dan Gosling, 20, are on long deals but could be offered better terms to fend off any interest.

Moyes is delighted with the make-up of his current Everton squad and is happy to sacrifice some spending power if it means all his key players are tied down long-term.

In the meanwhile, he will scour the Bosman market to bolster the numbers at Goodison Park.
