Question: What did you hate about your last employer?

Answer: the scenario here is that the interviewer wants you to say something uncomplimentary about your ex-employer. The best thing to be done is to take advantage of the question and turn it round so that it makes it sound like the negative is in fact a positive!

It is better to note that there is no credit for you if you complain of give a negative situation in respect of your former employer without adding a positive ending. You can study some examples below to have a perfect idea of what you should say in case you are faced with this question.

You could start with statement like this "In spite of the fact that I actually have a lot of good things to say about my ex-employer, there is a particular aspect that I will like to highlight.

"It always grieves me whenever I noticed inefficiencies in the processing workflows and controls. On several occasions this will prompt me to make some suggestions regarding the ways to improve these inefficiencies only to discover that such suggestions are not utilized. Whereas some of these suggestions would have save money and improve quality”.

Questions: I have carefully looked through your resume and I discovered that you have never actually served in this capacity in any of your previous companies. Can tell us briefly how you going to coop?

Answer: To start with this is an obvious weakness and it must be viewed from that angle. It is to be viewed by the employer as an issue to be addressed and they are looking for re-assurance that you will adapt to the new environment.

Explain your previous experience to similar situations whereby you are moved around within your former companies and were faced with new technology which you had to learn quickly.

The earlier you turn this into a positive privilege the better, showing how you can adapt to changing circumstances and have a flexible approach. Display how you pick up new skills quickly. You can further show how you take delight in facing the challenges coming as a result of ever changing technology.

Give yourself a better advantaged position by declaring that “To be frank in today’s world we are all faced with a fast moving and changing environment which constantly presents new challenges. I have always been able to rise to these and perform effectively despite tight deadlines and little support”

No doubt you must have some experiences which you can list examples of similar experiences where you have demonstrated such skills. This should close the issue in the interviewers mind and paint a positive picture.
